Requires: WebRTC Gateway 3.2.7 or later. On VMs the default disk is only 4 GB. To keep longer captures, either add a second disk (option 1) or make the main disk bigger (option 2).
Option 1: Add a second disk (temporary analysis)
- Add a disk to the VM
In the hypervisor, attach a new virtual disk to the WRG VM. Hot-plug works.
- Detect the disk
mpdiskThis scans for disks and checks that the new one is available.
- Format it
mpdisk addThis formats the disk and creates the /LogExt partition, the default folder for mpndump files. It survives reboots.
- Start the capture
mpndump on --DEST=/LogExt --SIZE=40 --NBFILES=100 --DURATION=5d| Option | Meaning |
|---|---|
--DEST=<path> | Where the files go. Use /LogExt for the second disk. Leave it out to write to the main disk (option 2). |
--SIZE=xx | Size of each file in MB. Default 32, maximum 50 |
--NBFILES=xx | How many files to keep in rotation |
--DURATION=xx | How long the capture runs: s (default), m, h or d. Example: 5d for 5 days |
- Collect
Once the issue has been reproduced, get the files from /LogExt.
Warning:
Before any mpupgrade run the command mpdisk delete
Then detach the disk from the VM. If the second disk is still there, the upgrade stops.
Option 2: Make the main disk bigger (permanent)
- New installation
Declare a disk larger than 4 GB when you create the VM. The installer sizes the system to fit, so nothing else is needed.
- WebRTC gateway already installed
In the hypervisor, increase the size of the existing disk. Then run:
mpupgradeThe next mpupgrade detects the new size and resizes everything automatically. If no new version is planned, run mpupgrade manually on the current version. Check the free space afterwards with df -h.
- Start the capture
mpndump on --SIZE=40 --NBFILES=100 --DURATION=5dThis uses the same options as option 1, without --DEST. Choose --NBFILES × --SIZE so that it fits the free space.
Notes:
- /LogExt is only for mpndump files. Application logs and mpcollect always stay on the main disk.
- If a second disk is present, remove it (mpdisk delete) before running mpupgrade to resize the main disk.
