Issue
You do not receive Rainbow notifications on your Android device.
Root Cause
These Android devices or third-party applications have data, battery and RAM optimization mechanisms that can prevent Rainbow from sending notifications.
How to fix the issue
The settings to be checked may differ depending on your Android version and device manufacturer. Some brands include specific options like application autostart, which must be enabled for Rainbow to function properly.
To ensure Rainbow notifications are delivered reliably, follow these general steps that apply to most Android devices:
1. Enable Notifications for Rainbow
- Open Settings Apps Rainbow Notifications
- Make sure notifications are allowed
- Check that all notification categories (e.g., messages, alerts) are turned on
2. Turn Off Do Not Disturb
- Swipe down to access Quick Settings and ensure Do Not Disturb is disabled
- Or go to Settings Notifications Do Not Disturb and allow Rainbow as an exception
3. Disable Battery Optimization for Rainbow
- Go to Settings Battery Battery Optimization
- Find Rainbow and set it to "Don't optimize"
- This prevents the system from limiting background activity
4. Allow Background Data Usage
- Open Settings Network & Internet Data Saver
- If Data Saver is on, allow Rainbow to use data in the background
5. Allow Background Activity
- Go to Settings Apps Rainbow Battery or Advanced
- Ensure Background activity is enabled
6. Check RAM Management
- Some devices close apps to save memory
- If your device has a Security or Device Manager app, check if Rainbow is listed under auto-close or memory cleanup settings and exclude it
7. Restart Your Device
- A simple restart can refresh system services and resolve temporary issues
8. Keep Rainbow and Android OS Updated
- Make sure you’re using the latest version of the Rainbow app
- Check for Android system updates under Settings System Software Update
