This article provides an overview of previous Beta program versions, including the features, improvements, and changes that were available during each Beta cycle. It serves as a reference for all past Beta releases once they have transitioned to production, helping you track the evolution of the product over time.

• Rainbow Hub
  • DDI Scalability Warning (Web admin)
    Unused DDI numbers are temporarily mapped to the company DDI. A warning appears when the created DDI count hits 100 and loses its default association.
  • Device management - Delegated Access from BP to EC Admin
    To simplify device management, BP admins can now delegate access rights to EC admins for specific network settings (e.g., VLAN). This global company setting, configurable per EC company, allows EC admins to activate web/SSH access and perform phone resets—without granting rights to create/delete devices or trigger other remote actions.
  • Multi-Site Cloud PBX Configuration
    • Site-Based User & CLI Management: Introduces an optional “site” setting to support CloudPBX deployments across multiple company locations. This enables clearer organization of users and CLI policies per site, while remaining optional for single-site companies.
    • Custom Music on Hold per Site: Allows companies to upload specific Music on Hold (MoH) prompts for each site, tailoring caller experience to local needs.
• Analytics
  • Improve Audio Quality Page Info
    Revise and contextualize the Audio Quality page text to ensure accuracy and visibility, removing irrelevant OXE/OXO references and making key info easier to notice.
  • Persistent Analytics Filters
    Automatically save calendar and filter settings so users return to the same view when revisiting Analytics pages.
• Collaboration
  • Safety Prompt for Conference Start
    Introduce an optional confirmation before launching a bubble conference to prevent accidental alerts. Controlled via a new On/Off setting in General → Conversations, defaulting to Off to maintain current behavior.
  • Screen Sharing on iOS & Android
    Mobile users can now share their screen during conferences and P2P calls, enhancing collaboration on the go. The feature includes flexible controls for content selection and quality settings.

  • Customize Status - UI Visibility Improvements
    Refine the display and discoverability of custom statuses, improving clarity and consistency across views.
  • Customize Status - Rainbow Hub Routines
    Extend the Customize Status feature by automatically updating the user’s status when a personal routine is activated, ensuring coherence across collaboration tools.
• Subscriptions
  • Improved Duration Handling for Monthly Subscriptions
    Refines the subscription duration workflow by setting the default value to 0 instead of 3 (month) when the checkbox is selected. This ensures BPs actively choose a valid duration (starting from 3). 
    A ⓘ button is added to provide contextual guidance during setup.
• Webinar
  • Preserve Guest Speaker Email in Cloned Sessions
    Improves the clone webinar feature by retaining the email address of guest speakers (non-Rainbow users) who were invited and accepted co-host roles. This ensures organizers can easily re-invite external speakers when duplicating past webinars.
  • Updated Waiting Room Visual and Message
    Replace the popcorn image in the webinar waiting room with the same banner used when no speaker is onstage. Add a thank-you phrase to the waiting room message to enhance the attendee experience.
• Desktop App
  • Electron Upgrade and Poly SDK Integration
    Upgrades the Rainbow Desktop app to a new Electron version, bringing the latest Chromium improvements and enhanced headset management. This update also integrates the new Poly SDK, ensuring compatibility with Poly LENS for better device control, diagnostics, and user experience.
• iOS Compatibility
  • Support for iOS 26
    The mobile app now supports iOS 26, ensuring full compatibility and optimal performance on the latest Apple devices.
• User Interface & Experience (iOS)
  • Refactor key iOS UI components - including account creation, contact card, invitation flow, and contact list creation - using SwiftUI to ensure full compliance with Apple design standards.
• Serviceability
  • Chromium WebRTC Log Collection on Desktop
    Enable log collection from Chromium WebRTC modules via the existing debug option in the About section of the Rainbow Desktop app, improving diagnostics and support efficiency.
• Kuando Busylight Support
  • Enablement Setting in Notifications
    Adds a new section in Settings Notifications to allow users to enable Kuando Busylight devices, improving presence signaling and hardware integration.

• User Interface & Experience (iOS)
  • Redesigned Login Screen for Guest Users
    A fresh, modern login screen now welcomes guest users, aligned with iOS design standards for a cleaner and more intuitive experience.
  • Profile View Redesign
    The profile update screen has been revamped using native iOS components, offering a more streamlined and visually consistent layout.
  • Sign-In Screen Redesign
    The sign-in interface now features native Apple UI elements, improving usability and visual harmony across the app.
• Calling & Telephony
  • Set Rainbow as Default Calling App (iOS)
    On iOS 18.2+, users can now set Rainbow as their default calling app. Calls from contacts or history will route through Rainbow, with fallback to native calling if needed.
  • Unified Melody Selection for Supervised Calls
    Supervised calls now support the same melody options as standard telephony calls, ensuring a consistent audio experience.
  • Multiple DDI Numbers per Destination (Rainbow HUB  available since September 22 
    Users, groups, auto-attendants, and Welcomes can now be assigned up to five DDI numbers per destination, with full CLI integration and name resolution - even in Office mode.
• Presence & Status
  • Customize Status  available since September 9 
    Users can now create personalized statuses with custom names, emojis, and expiration timers. These appear next to avatars and are visible based on viewer permissions.
• Task Management
  • Custom Task Categories   available since September 9 
    Users can now create custom categories beyond the default High/Medium/Low priorities, allowing for more personalized and efficient task organization:
    • Essential profiles: 3 default categories
    • Business profiles: up to 10 categories
    • Enterprise/Attendant profiles: up to 20 categories This enables more tailored task organization.
    • Note that for Beta profile the value is set to 20 categories regardless of whether you have a Business or Enterprise licence
• Channels
  • Channel Post Preview (Web/Desktop)
    A new preview mode lets users see how posts will appear before publishing - accessible via a button in the editor’s header.
• File Management
  • Bulk Deletion by Year in “Free up Space” (Web/Desktop)
    Users can now delete files in bulk by creation or modification date - streamlining storage cleanup and saving time.
• Webinar Enhancements
  • Enhanced Backstage Audio Control (Web/Desktop)
    Hosts can now manage backstage audio with individual volume controls and choose whether to transmit voice backstage only or both backstage and on stage. Speaker roles are now more clearly defined.
• Analytics & Reporting
  • Duplicate Rainbow Hub Group Reports (Web/Desktop)
    Easily replicate reports across multiple Hub Groups for faster distribution.
  • Email Delivery of Raw Data in Hub Group Reports (Web/Desktop)
    Customers can now receive raw data files via email as part of their report distribution workflow.
  • New “Applications” Tab in Analytics (Web/Desktop)
    A bar chart now displays user distribution across Rainbow client versions. Admins with “User level” visibility can access detailed, filterable user lists.
  • Rainbow Hub Deskphone Voice Quality Analytics (Web/Desktop)
    Enhanced audio metrics now provide deeper insights into deskphone call performance.
• Browser & Platform Optimization
  • Safari Browser Video Streams Improved (Web)
    Streaming via Safari has been optimized for mobile users, delivering smoother playback and better performance on the go.
• Desktop Application Extension
  • Enhanced Contact Card Variables for Extension Points (Desktop)
    New ${contact.xxx} variables are now supported across all extension points tied to identified users or contact cards.

The Beta version has now reached parity with the production release, meaning all previously Beta-exclusive features are fully rolled out and available to all users. At this time, there are no new features offered for testing within the Beta program.

Exception:
Video and screen sharing support on CITRIX and Omnissa Horizon (media optimization for the Rainbow Desktop application). This feature will continue to be managed under the Beta program.

• Video and screen sharing support for CITRIX and Omnissa Horizon media optimization for Rainbow Desktop application

This feature will be in "early" beta test, meaning some restrictions and issues may still need to be addressed. Since it is impossible to test on all platforms that exist in the field, unforeseen challenges may arise during real-world use. Continuous improvements will be made based on feedback to ensure broader compatibility and enhanced stability over time. (see Article)

• Smarter Forwarding for Seamless Communication:

Enhance your workflow with speed dial keys as forward destinations and instant access to your two most recent forward numbers. Recent forward numbers are saved automatically, letting you redirect calls more quickly and efficiently.

• Uninterrupted Calls Across Devices (only for OXE at this stage)

Stay connected without missing a beat—switch seamlessly between PC/Mac and mobile during an active call. Just tap "Pick it up" to continue your conversation smoothly, wherever you are.

• Smarter Waiting Room Experience for iOS Users

Waiting for a webinar is now more interactive—iOS users can control YouTube videos directly in the waiting room with full playback options. Videos pick up right where you left off, even if you leave and return, and playlist support lets you browse and choose what to watch, adding convenience and personalization to your wait.

• Vote in Webinar Polls - Now on Mobile:

Participate in Rainbow Webinar polls straight from your phone with ease. Even after casting your vote, you can view poll results and related content, keeping you informed and engaged - whether you're on the move or juggling tasks.

• On Mobile only - Free Up Space Faster with Monthly Cleanup:

Simplify storage management with the new option to bulk delete files by month in the “Free up space” section. Just choose a month and clear out multiple files in seconds—no more endless scrolling. It’s a quicker, smarter way to keep your device tidy and organized.

• iOS Update: Choose Whether Rainbow Calls Appear in Call History

You now have the option to choose whether Rainbow calls - including individual, conference, or phone calls - appear in your iPhone's native call history, giving you greater control over privacy and call tracking.

• Android - Effortless Screen Sharing

Share your screen in a one-to-one call or conference directly from your Android device. Choose between sharing your full screen or a specific app, with adjustable quality settings to match your needs. Your status updates automatically when presenting, and the new call menu lets you start or stop sharing with a simple tap - keeping your screen clean and your collaboration seamless, even on the go.

• Enhanced iOS Experience on Rainbow

Rainbow for iOS just got more refined with streamlined UI updates: in-app notifications now ensure you never miss a beat, file filtering is simpler via a new submenu, and the More menu in calls is more intuitive than ever. Plus, the redesigned Tasks view aligns better with iOS standards for a smoother, more user-friendly experience.

Main features to test

• Restrict Data

This new feature extends the existing options for controlling data and file transmission in conversations and bubbles by also enabling control over file reception. This function can be configured through profiles that are assignable to all users or specific user groups, allowing administrators to enforce data security policies with greater precision and flexibility. (see Article)

• METADATA information for SAML SSO provider

Provide customers a way to automatically update SAML settings for their company (e.g the SAML signing certificate expires every 3 months and you want to automate the certificate update in Rainbow). (see Article)

• Rainbow Hub - Group Analytics - Send reports by e-mail

This feature allows to configure Group Analytics that can be send by e-mail either automatically based on the frequency you have configured or immediately from the report configuration (send button). (see Article)

Additional features and enhancements available in this release

• Share audio with screen sharing:

Audio sharing, previously limited to Bubble screen presentations, is now available in one-on-one conversations - enhancing convenience during calls and content sharing.

• "Create a poll" added to the bubble "Other options" menu

This new option streamlines access to the poll creation feature.

• Message forward enhancement

You have now a new option to add the original sender of the message that you forward to another conversation.

• Displaying information on who pinned messages.

Pinned messages now display the name of the user who pinned them, shown above the message itself.

• Notification Center - Get notified when you are mentioned

Mentions now trigger automatic notifications, enhancing responsiveness and keeping users better connected to key conversations.

• Android - Add conversation shortcut to phone home screen

For UC users, the shortcut allows quick access to a selected user's conversation in Rainbow.
For telephony users, the shortcut can directly initiate a call to a chosen number.

• Administration - configure Desktop application extension through mass provisioning

An administrator can upload multiple desktop application extensions (custom-manifest) and assign them - either to all users or specific user groups - via mass provisioning with a CSV file or by using the LDAP Connector.

• Analytics - Enhanced Audio Analytics with Tag-Based Search and Multi-Select Filters

New analytics features help swiftly identify and resolve audio quality issues. User Tag Search enables targeted investigations across user groups by tag - such as company site or department - while Multi-Select Filters refine analysis by variables like device or network. These tools offer deeper insight and faster troubleshooting across diverse user environments.

• Rainbow Hub - Multiline+ Now Supports Up to 5 Simultaneous Calls

Experience greater call flexibility with the upgraded multiline+ feature - now allowing up to 5 active calls across deskphones and softphones. Just enable the multiline+ profile in the admin panel to enjoy seamless, uninterrupted communication on your devices.

• Rainbow Hub - Myriad S Phone Range Now Supported

The Myriad S series brings faster performance and smoother navigation to your daily communications, while retaining the intuitive experience you're used to. The lineup now includes two new models -Myriad 7S for essential features, and Myriad 7S Pro with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for advanced connectivity and flexibility.
