New features for April. 2026:
Complete Meeting Control: Scope, Password, and Lobby Working Together:
Rainbow's new password protection completes our three-tier security system, giving you unprecedented control over meeting access. First, set your sharing scope—restrict visibility to bubble members only, open to your company, or welcome external guests. Next, enable password protection to secure link-based access while invited members join seamlessly. Finally, add the lobby for that crucial visual approval before entry. Use one layer, two, or all three—each works independently or combines for maximum security. From quick team syncs to confidential board meetings, you decide exactly how open or protected each conversation should be. Security without compromise, flexibility without complexity
Admin Fine-tune synchronization with separate periods for users and contacts:
LDAP synchronization is now easier to fine-tune. Instead of relying on a single global frequency for all directory data, administrators can now define separate synchronization periods for users and for contacts. Each parameter is available in its own configuration area, making it possible to adapt synchronization behavior to operational needs. For example, user data can be refreshed more frequently than contact data when required.
Park and retrieve calls from desk phones with BLF keys:
Desk phones can now use supervision keys to park and retrieve calls directly from Call Park slots. Administrators and users can assign keys to slots 1 to 9. When a slot is free, the key parks the active call. When the slot is busy, the same key retrieves it. The key also displays the slot status and automatically triggers the blind transfer required for park and unpark actions. Supported on Mx, Mx-S, H3G, and ALE-2 devices.
Let group administrators manage welcome calendars:
Hunting group administrators can now manage the welcome service calendar when that calendar is dedicated to their own group. To keep the experience clear and relevant, the calendar tab is displayed only when a single welcome service and a single calendar are linked to the group, and only when the group is used for open hours.
Blur or change your background during calls:
On mobile, virtual backgrounds are available in Rainbow calls, conferences, and webinars to help users protect their privacy and present a cleaner on-screen environment. When an image is not suitable, a blur effect can be used instead. Both options can be configured before joining, or directly during a call, conference, or webinar.
Show all contacts sharing the same email address:
Web searches can now display every contact associated with the same email address, even when one of them is already identified as a Rainbow user. This helps users access additional directory information that might otherwise remain hidden. The option is disabled by default to preserve current behavior and can be enabled in Settings → General → Contacts: Show contacts with same emails in the result of a search.
Choose audio output during Android calls:
When more than two audio outputs are available during a call on Android, Rainbow now replaces the basic speaker or earpiece toggle with a contextual selector. Users can choose the most appropriate output, including Bluetooth devices, while clearly seeing which output is currently active. When only two outputs are available, the existing behavior remains unchanged. This applies to peer-to-peer calls, conference calls, PBX calls, and webinars.
Run multiple LDAP connectors for multi-company environments:
Access key Rainbow actions faster with the Desktop mini bar:
A new Desktop mini bar gives users faster access to key Rainbow actions without opening the full application. Designed as a dockable on-screen component, it stays visible when needed and can automatically collapse to a discreet reminder at the top of the screen when idle. The first available actions include audio settings, call log with badge, voicemail with badge, notifications, and search. The mini bar works as a direct control layer for the Rainbow Desktop application, and its visibility is managed through a local setting.
Add custom widgets directly to the main Rainbow interface:
A new extension type, on-main-widget-display-actions (MWG), lets administrators and integrators display up to three custom widgets directly inside the Rainbow application. This creates a practical way to connect Rainbow with external business modules such as door entry controls or company-developed tools. The feature is available on Desktop, Web, and Microsoft Teams, supports up to three extensions, and allows a custom title, tooltip, optional configuration URL, command execution, and rendering in Markdown, JSON, or Adaptive Card format. When a config URL is defined, a settings icon opens the related external configuration page.
See OXE CCD waiting time directly on incoming calls:
Incoming OXE CCD calls now display the global waiting time directly in the incoming call popup and in the call card. The value is shown in mm:ss format alongside the CCD information, including the PBX display name, so users can understand queue context immediately.
Admin Give basic call center members queue visibility and call pickup:
Administrators can now enable queue visibility for basic call center members. Once activated, agents can see waiting calls with CLI, caller name, and waiting time, and can pick up those calls directly, including during wrap-up time.
Monitor waiting calls and pick them up based on waiting time:
Basic call center members can now monitor waiting calls directly from the queue view. Agents can see caller details, including CLI, name, and waiting time, and can pick up any waiting call, including during wrap-up time.
Adopt Apple's new Liquid Glass foundation:
The iOS application has been rebuilt with Xcode 26 and updated to adopt Apple’s new Liquid Glass design language. This foundation work delivers a more modern visual experience and prepares the app for current platform expectations.
