Instant messaging allows you to communicate in real-time, exchanging messages instantly with others Rainbow users.
Start a Conversation
When you first open the Rainbow page to send a message, no conversations are present. You need to search for a contact first to start a conversation.
- Search for a contact.
- Select the person you want to start a conversation with.
- Simply type your message in the text box.
- Press the send icon
or hit the enter key on your keyboard to send the message. The conversation then appears in the list of "Recent Conversations", making it easier to keep track of ongoing conversations.

Note: The list of recent conversations contains the 15 most recent active conversations, sorted from the most recent activity. The older conversations are hidden.
Hide a Conversation
Recent conversations are listed on the left side of the window so that you can quickly resume a conversation. However, it's possible to hide a conversation so that it no longer appears in the list of recent conversations.

Select the cross
that appears when you hover over the conversation you want to hide.
The conversation no longer appears in the list of recent conversations.
- Press and hold the conversation you want to hide and swipe left. The conversation no longer appears in the list of recent conversations.
Note: Hiding a conversation does not delete it.
Continue a Conversation
There are several ways to continue a conversation:
- The first way is to search for the person you want to chat with, especially when the older conversation is hidden.
- The second way is to select the person from the list of recent conversations.
- The third way is to select the person from your favorites list if you have added them there previously.
- On the left side of your screen, you'll find a list of recent conversations, making it easy to pick up where you left off.
- If the person you're chatting with has sent you a new message or messages, you'll see the number displayed. If they're in your favorites list, you'll also see a new message icon.
- Simply select the conversation to continue it. If the conversation is hidden, you can find the person by searching or selecting them from your favorites.
Note: When your correspondent is typing the message, you'll see this indicated below the text box with a slow blinking notification.
- You'll find a list of recent conversations, making it easy to pick up where you left off.
- If the person you are chatting with has sent you a new message, the number of new messages will be displayed. If the person is on your Favorites list, a red badge for new messages will also be displayed.
- Simply select the conversation to continue it. If the conversation is hidden, you can find the person by searching or selecting them from your favorites.
Add a Conversation to Favorite
If you frequently chat with the same people, it's a good idea to add them to your favorites. Favorite contacts will appear above recent conversations and are always displayed, making it easier for you to find and resume conversations with them.

To add a contact to your favorites, first select the conversation with that person.
The "Contact Information" tab about your contact is displayed to the right of the screen. - Select the "
Add to favorites" menu.
Your contact appears in your favorite at the top left side of the screen.
Note: To remove a contact to your favorite, open the conversation with that person and select "Remove from favorites" menu in the "Contact Information" tab.
- To add a contact to your favorites, select a contact and swipe right.
- Or you can also add them to your favorites from the "
Contact Information" page.
Opens the Conversations with Contacts page. And tap "Setting".
- Select the "
Your contact appears in your favorite at the top of the screen.
Note: To remove a contact to your favorite, open the conversation with that person and select "Remove from favorites" in the
"Contact Information" page.
