Android VERSION 1.170.9
Information
Following a recent Google policy review, the Rainbow Android app is no longer elligible to the Google Play Store, due to compliance issues with Android Auto. This issue is linked to the presence of Android Auto declarations and permissions in the app package.
Google limits Android Auto access to a restricted set of supported use cases and the management of incoming and outgoings we introduced in version 170 is finally not allowed by Google. As a consequence, we need to remove this call management from the Rainbow app package.
At present, we don't know when Google will unlock these restrictions and we apologize for this inconvenience.
Rainbow chat notifications remain available, however.
Main fixes
- Android 17
- Incoming call screens are not displayed when the application is running in the background while the phone is actively in use (unlocked) for another activity.
- Rainbow Android
- Users are experiencing an audio delay, the sound progressively becomes desynchronized and eventually stops during extended calls.
