The information provided here is based on tests conducted on January 30, 2026, using hardware and versions described below.:
- Yealink DECT Station: W73B bundle, consisting of a W70B base and a W73H handset
- Rainbow Hub version: 2.165.15
- W70B – Firmware version = 146.85.0.40 - Hardware version = 146.0.0.0.2.0.0
- W73H - Version 116.85.0.35
Note: The firmware for the base station and terminal has not been updated (although a newer version was available on Yealink support web site)..
Configure a DECT set via Rainbow Hub administration
You must use the "Generic SIP" terminal type. The MAC address of the base station is not required; you can enter it, but it is not used by Rainbow.
After confirming with the "Create" button, associate the desired user (in this example: Andrea Simoni, line 123). The information required for Yealink configuration can be found in the "SIP options" tab.
Access the W70B terminal administration
Determine the IP address that the terminal has obtained (DHCP by default) and enter the configuration via a browser. User ID = admin & Password = admin
Warning: Please change this factory default password immediately. Failure to change the default password exposes the terminal to unauthorized access, data breaches, and fraud, which can compromise the security of the entire network and system.
Security : ALE Rainbow certificate
On recent versions of non-ALE equipment, certificates are already present (here in the "Phone CA" store). During testing with this W70B base station, it was not necessary to load anything else. However, if it proves necessary to inject a certificate, it must first be retrieved from the "SIP options" tab in Rainbow, at the "Generic SIP" terminal level.
The download provides a PEM file, which can be imported into the Yealink database either in one go or by dividing the certificate into 3 parts using a text editor such as Notepad++.
In this case, where no import was necessary, the Yealink configuration is to be set is as follows:
Country / time zone / time and date format
Change the default settings according to your situation.
SIP registration of the first DECT set
Since the equipment used for this test was a bundle, the W73H DECT terminal was already paired with the W70B base station by default. You must enter the SIP information for "Account 1" as shown below.
Note: Label & Display name are not taken into account here, but you can still fill them in. However, the username to be displayed on the terminal must be set elsewhere.
Advanced SIP settings and tones
Add specific information as shown below:
CODECS
Set as follows :
Check that the registration was successful
Once all the settings described above have been configured, the DECT station must be correctly registered in Rainbow Hub. Verify that the status is « Running ».
Username on the DECT handset
By default, the username on the handset is: "Handset 1" It may be necessary to reboot the base station to correctly access the following menu, where you can enter the desired username.
