This article allows to make Rainbow Business Telephony available in the Teams application of your company members.
Rainbow Business Telephony is activated in Teams from the Microsoft Teams admin center.
Rainbow Business Telephony is activated using an application setup policy: this controls how Rainbow Business Telephony is made available to company members in the Teams application.
Note: The connector is currently undergoing Microsoft validation for listing in the AppSource. In the meantime, you can access it via our official download link.
In the following, the setup policy used is the Global (Org-wide) default policy that will be assigned to all company members.
As an option, you can manage customized setup policies that will be assigned to specific company members. For more details, see: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/manage-apps.
The setup policy configuration for Rainbow Business Telephony consists in:
- Adding Rainbow Business Telephony to the setup policy
- Configuring policy settings
- Pinning Rainbow Business Telephony to the Teams bar
Once the setup policy has been configured, Rainbow Business Telephony will be pre-installed and pinned to the Teams application of company members. If logged in into Teams, company members must first log out, then log back in, to display Rainbow Business Telephony in the Team application bar.

Before you start
On Teams side:
- You must have a Teams administrator role to access the Microsoft Teams admin center.
- Your company must be declared as a Team in the Microsoft Teams admin center (access path: Teams > Manage teams).
On Rainbow side:
- The company members must have at least a Business or Enterprise license.
Accessing the Microsoft Teams admin center
- Open a web navigator and enter the following URL:
https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/dashboard - Enter your administrator credentials (mail address and password).
- Click on Connect.
Preliminary operations
- From the Microsoft Teams admin center, go to: Teams apps > Manage apps.
- Search Rainbow Business telephony in the application list.
- Verify that the application status is set to Unblocked and application availability is set to Everyone.
- If it is not the case, click on the application name, then perform the following:
- To change the application status: click on Actions at the top right of the window and select Unblock app.
- To change the application availability: click on the value under the Available to field, then Edit availablility, and select Everyone in the drop-down list.
Configuring a setup policy for Rainbow telephony
- From the Microsoft Teams admin center, go to: Teams apps > Setup policies.
- Click on Global (Org-wide default) in the setup policy list.
- Set the Upload custom apps field to OFF: company members will not able to download custom applications from the Teams app store.
- Set the User pinning field to ON: company members will be able to rearrange the order of applications in their Teams application.
- In the Installed apps frame, click on Add apps, search on Rainbow Business Telephony and click on Add.
Rainbow Business Telephony is displayed in the installed application list. - In the Pinned apps frame, click on Add apps, search on Rainbow Business Telephony and click on Add.
Rainbow Business Telephony is displayed in the App bar column. - Optionally, you can change the order of applications displayed in the Teams bar, and in particular the Rainbow Business Telephony position, using the Move up and Move down buttons.
- Click on Save to validate the setup policy configuration.
The setup policy configuration window is closed, and you return to the list of setup policies.
