This article describes how to install the WebRTC gateway software on a PROXMOX® environment.
Documentation is based on installation and testing with PROXMOX® version 8.2.7.
Note: For the moment we're in an early access phase. Don't hesitate to let us know of any problems you encounter; the Rainbow Support Team and R&D will try to resolve them as best they can.
Load webrtc gateway iso image
Installation is performed using the WebRTC gateway iso file, which can be requested from MyPortal.
Load WebRTC gateway iso file on local/network storage:
Select the WebRTC gateway iso file and click upload
Create new WebRTC gateway Virtual Machine
Following screenshots are given as example.
Note: Check with your PROXMOX® administrator for specific configuration & optimization.
Give a name to the VM
Use iso image previously downloaded.
- Type : Linux
- Version : 2.6 kernel
Default system parameters are used.
Minimum hard disk size is 4 Gb
- When disk size is > 4Gb, total hard disk is used.
Define CPU cores: 2 cores minimum
- Adapt value depending on number of users.
- For RTP treatment, CPU must be available when needed.
- Adapt parameters with your PROXMOX® administrator to optimize performances.
Define default memory size: 2 Gb
- For RTP treatment, memory must be available when needed.
- Unselect Ballooning to reserve memory if there is a risk of ballooning
Use appropriate Bridge network.
- Set a VLAN tag if necessary (check with your network administrator)
Check & validate your configuration.
Start the VM
- Starting first time, VM will boot on iso image and launch WebRTC gateway installation process.
- At the end of installation, iso image is unmounted; you can remove iso image.
- WebRTC gateway is ready to manage, you can configure WebRTC gateway as usual.
Upgrade
There is nothing specific for upgrade. Any type of upgrade is available:
- Create a new VM with new version and reconfigure all parameters.
- Download iso image and use mpupgrade (existing configuration is kept). See WebRTC Gateway Upgrade Guide.
