Support for DECT bases and stations in the administration interface is currently available for early adopters.
Cloud PBXs natively support a wide range of telephony devices, including Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise DECT solutions. DECT Handsets 8212 and 8214 can be managed directly in the administration interface of a Rainbow company. We recommend that you create the DECT base stations in advance, to make it easier to set up the handsets.
Connect a DECT Handset to a Base Station
Note: The customer company must have an active Cloud PBX and a Beta license for the “Devices” menu to appear.
- From your administration interface, go to your customer list. Choose the company for which you wish to deploy your DECT Handset.
- In the left-hand menu, go to the “Communication” area, then to the “Devices” tab.
- Click on the “Phones” sub-tab to display the list of existing DECT handset or create a new one. Click on the “Create” button to add a new device. There are several steps involved in creating a new device.
- Information tab: In the selection list, choose the device type (8212 or 8214 DECT Handset) and enter its IPEI. You can also add a description.
- Member tab: The server name automatically takes the name of the Cloud PBX present in the company. You can choose to associate a DECT with a user by typing its name in the input field, or with an extension number.
- Primary base tab: Choose a previously created DECT base to associate it with. Click on the “Apply” button to complete device creation.
- Once created, your DECT Handest will appear in the devices area. You can click on a phone to modify its information or check its connection status.
Note: DECT bases communicate continuously with the Rainbow infrastructure. Information is exchanged every minute. It can therefore take up to two minutes before your base station connects and updates its connection status.
Tips: Only members linked to an extension number will be available in the member tab. If you can't find the member you're looking for, link it to an extension number first.
