Support for DECT bases and stations in the administration interface is currently available for early adopters.
Cloud PBXs natively support a wide range of telephony devices, including Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise DECT solutions. Connecting a base station is the first step before deploying a fleet of DECT phones. These bases can be managed directly from the administration space of a Rainbow Company including a Cloud PBX. It is imperative that your databases are connected to the public network in order to exchange information with the Rainbow infrastructure.
8328 DECT bases stations can operate independently or in duo with dual cell mode. The dual cell mode extends the range of the installation and offers DECT phone users even greater mobility.
Create a 8328 DECT Base
Note: The customer company must have an active Cloud PBX and a Beta license for the “Devices” menu to appear.
- From your administration interface, go to your customer list. Choose the company for which you wish to deploy your DECT base
- In the left-hand menu, go to the “Communication” area, then to the “Devices” tab.
- Click on the “DECT base stations” sub-tab to display the list of existing bases or create a new one. Click on the “Create primary base” button to deploy a new device.
- Choose a name for the base station and enter its MAC address. In the picklist, indicate type 83228 DECT Base Station. You must also choose the “mono” or “dual” cell mode for your base station. Once all the information has been entered, complete the installation by clicking on the “Create” button.
- Once created, your DECT base will appear in the devices area. You can click on a base to modify its information or check its connection status.
Note: DECT bases communicate continuously with the Rainbow infrastructure. Information is exchanged every minute. It can therefore take up to two minutes before your base station connects and updates its connection status.
Tips: You can find the MAC address of your base on the packaging or directly on the box.
Create a 8328 DECT Base in Dual Cell Mode
Note: The customer company must have an active Cloud PBX and a Beta license for the “Devices” menu to appear.
- To create a secondary base station, you need to have connected a primary base station whose DECT cell mode is set to “dual”. If your primary base station is in “mono” mode, you can change this by clicking on it.
- When a base station is configured in DECT cell “dual” mode, you can hover over it with your mouse, then click on the “more option” button. In the menu, choose “Create a secondary base”.
- To create your secondary base, enter a name and the MAC address of the device in question. Complete the installation by clicking on the “Create” button.
- The main base station will indicate that it has a secondary base station in the “DECT base stations” subtab. You can modify or view this secondary base station by hovering your mouse over the main base station and clicking on the “more option” button. In the menu, choose “Show secondary bases” to retrieve the information.
Note: The 8328 base in dual cell mode can manage a single secondary base. This association increases the range of the installation and the mobility of your DECT phones.
