This article allows to manage a PBX (OXO Connect, OXO Connect Evolution or OmniPCX Enterprise) associated to a customer company, for example:
- Manage PBX data
- Reset the PBX connection with Rainbow: This disconnects the PBX from Rainbow, and generates a new activation code. This new activation code will have to be entered on PBX side to connect to Rainbow again
- Delete the PBX from the customer company
Management operations are performed from the communication server management window of the company.
Accessing the communication server management window
- From the Rainbow application, click on Manage your customers
in the left panel.
- In the MY CUSTOMERS panel, click on Customers companies.
- In the right part of the window, click on the name of the target customer company.
- In the left panel, click on Communication.
- In the right part of the window, click on the Comm. Servers tab.
Updating OmniPCX Enterprise data
- From the communication server management window, click on the target PBX.
- In the Information tab, review/modify the following parameters:
Server name Enter the name of PBX
Activate WebRTC gateway Activate or deactivate the connection to the associated WebRTC gateway
Used as default route This option is used when the customer company has multiple PBXs sharing the same WebRTC gateway.
Select the check box if the associated WebRTC gateway must be shared by other PBXs of the customer companyDialing information Country Enter the country used to translate national phone numbers into canonical numbers
National prefix Enter the first digit(s) dialed when calling a subscriber inside the country configured in the Country field
International prefix Enter the first digit(s) dialed when calling a subscriber outside the country configured in the Country field
Outbound prefix Enter the prefix used for outgoing calls
Use the outbound prefix Select the check to use the outbound prefix for outgoing calls
Installation number Enter the public number of the customer company
Secret identity Activate Secret Identity service for users - If selected, the secret identity service is activated for all company members with a deskphone on PBX: they can mask their identity for outgoing calls from their Rainbow client, via the menu SECRET IDENTITY available in the Rainbow application's telephony settings
- If not selected, the secret identity service is not offered on the Rainbow application for company members with a deskphone on PBX
Note: The secret identity service must first be configured in PBX. For details, see: TC2462 Configuration guide for Rainbow PBX
integration with OmniPCX Enterprise (available on My Portal).Secret is not activated by default for OXE entities This field is proposed for debugging purposes only, and reflects the state of the secret identity service in the main entity of PBX
The configuration of the PBX and the WebRTC gateway allows, during a conference: to call a telephone extension or a public number If selected, participants of the conference can be called by their internal or external directory number
Note: A public number must be configured in the Installation number field.a user to participate from his desk phone If selected, the participants of the conference can use their deskphone, if equipped
- In the Telephony tab, review/modify the following parameters:
Rainbow mobiles must use PBX for emergency If selected, emergency calls initiated from Rainbow mobiles are intercepted by the PBX which manages them locally before calling the public emergency service
Phone Numbers Transformation Rules Optionally, configure the numbering rules applying to outgoing communications from Rainbow: see: Configure the PBX numbering rules
CCD Agent When busy in a Rainbow call or conference CCD Withdraw - If selected: when CCD agents are in Rainbow communication or conference, their state switches to withdraw for CCD call distribution (i.e. they cannot receive CCD calls)
- If not selected: when CCD agents are in Rainbow communication or conference, their state remain to idle for CCD call distribution (i.e. they can receive CCD calls)
When in DND Ignore IPbx VoIP calls - If selected: when CCD agents are in Do not Disturb (DND), calls from the PBX are ignored (no pop-up or ringing), except for CCD calls: they will be notified when a CCD call is received and can answer it, if desired
- If not selected: when CCD agents are in Do not Disturb (DND), they can receive calls from PBX
CCD Withdraw - If selected: when CCD agents are in Do not Disturb (DND), their state switches to withdraw for CCD call distribution (i.e. they cannot receive CCD calls)
- If not selected: when CCD agents are in Do not Disturb (DND), they can receive CCD calls according to Ignore IPbx VoIP calls field
Withdraw reason When CCD Withdraw is selected for CCD agents in busy or DND state, select the withdraw type from 0 to 9. Each of these numbers represents a type of unavailability configured for CCD in PBX
- In the Connection tab, you can reset the PBX connection with Rainbow: see: Resetting the PBX connection with Rainbow
- In the WebRTC GW tab, you can manage the WebRTC gateways associated to the PBX, for example:
- Update their software version if a new version is available
- Perform maintenance tasks
- Remove the WebRTC gateways
- Click on Apply.
Updating OXO Connect/OXO Connect Evolution data
- From the communication server management window, click on the target PBX.
- In the Information tab, review/modify the following parameters:
Server name Enter the name of PBX
Activate WebRTC gateway Activate or deactivate the connection to the associated WebRTC gateway

- In the Settings tab, review/modify the following parameter:
Type of WebRTC gateway Select:
- Not configured from Rainbow: the WebRTC gateway provided by Rainbow Cloud is used for Rainbow VoIP call handling.
- Internal: the WebRTC gateway embedded in the PBX is used for Rainbow VoIP call handling (only available for OXO Connect Evolution).

External: an external WebRTC gateway is used for Rainbow VoIP call handling.
If External is selected, you can modify its default IP address and the number of allocated voice channels.Note: This option is displayed only when the WebRTC gateway has been activated in the Information tab.
- Optionally, in the Telephony tab, configure the numbering rules applying to outgoing communications from Rainbow: see: Configure the PBX numbering rules
- In the Connection tab, you can reset the PBX connection with Rainbow: see: Resetting the PBX connection with Rainbow
- In the WebRTC GW tab, you can manage the WebRTC gateways associated to the PBX, for example:
- Update their software version if a new version is available
- Perform maintenance tasks
- Remove the WebRTC gateways
- Click on Apply.
Resetting the PBX connection with Rainbow
- From the communication server management window, click on the target PBX, and select the Connection tab.
- Click on Reset connection.
A warning message is displayed at the top of the window. - Click Yes to confirm reset.
After reset, the PBX is no more connected to Rainbow, and its status changes to Pending in the Comm. Servers tab.
Note: A new activation code is generated and displayed in the Connection tab. To connect the PBX to Rainbow again, this activation code must be entered at PBX level.
Deleting a PBX
- From the communication server management window, reset first the PBX connection with Rainbow: see: Resetting the PBX connection with Rainbow.
- After reset, move your mouse over the target PBX, click on
, and select Remove an equipment.
- Click on Remove.
The PBX is deleted from the equipment list (Comm. servers tab).
