Purpose of the document

This document describes the configuration to be applied to 3rd Party Snom D3XX SIP telephones for connection to the Alcatel Rainbow Hub solution.

3rd Party Snom extension configuration

Note: D385 and D335 phones have different system versions, but the configuration interface is the same.

Go to the web interface of your Snom extension. You can obtain the terminal IP address directly from the Snom extension.

Online on the Snom workstation's web interface using HTTP or HTTPS.

No user name or password is required by default.

SIP account configuration

Go to Setup > Identity 1 > Login

Then enter the information obtained from the Rainbow interface.

Once the configuration has been applied, the workstation should try to register with the Rainbow Hub platform.

You must fill in the "Outbound proxy" field, specifying the destination port and transport at the end of the domain name.

Here's an example of the configuration to be applied:

To register with MEVO, simply fill in the Mailbox field with voicebox

RTP configuration on the user's profile

To configure the RTP parameters of the user's profile, go to the Setup > Identity 1 > RTP menu.

Codec configuration

The codecs have been defined in the following order:

• G.711A (pcma)
• G.711U (pcmu)
• OPUS

SRTP configuration

General telephony configuration

In this section we'll look at how to configure the parameters that affect the phone's network and SIP protocol behavior.

Network configuration

To enable the phone to communicate with the Rainbow gateway, it must be assigned an IP address via DHCP or statically (not recommended) and a default gateway.

A DNS and NTP server must also be set via DHCP or statically.

To configure Everybody, go to the Advanced > Network menu.

Then fill in the information in the following fields:

DHCP :

Set to off if you are assigning a static IP address to the telephony.

Static IP address :

DNS :

NTP:

RTP port configuration

You can edit the RTP ports used by the phone for audio streams. To configure them, go to the Setup > Advanced > SIP/RTP menu.

PRACK configuration

PRACK is not mandatory, but the Alcatel Rainbow platform supports it.

To configure it, go to the Advanced > SIP/RTP menu.

The PRACK Require option is optional.

RFC2833 DTMF configuration

To configure RFC2833 DTMF, go to the Setup > Identity 1 > SIP menu and set "DTMF via SIP INFO" to Off.

Certificate configuration

Download certificate from Rainbow interface

Download the trusted certificate from the Rainbow interface.

Installing the certificate on the telephony terminal

Once you've downloaded the trusted certificate, import it into the Snom terminal from the Snom administration interface: Setup > Certificates > Custom Certificate

Click on choose file, then on load
