Each Rainbow room connects a meeting room, and its audio/video equipment, to your company in Rainbow. Once connected to Rainbow, a meeting room provides your company with an online video conferencing solution. All company members can search and add the meeting room to their bubbles (regardless of their service level).
Rainbow room configuration consists in:
- Creating a Rainbow room for your company
- Getting the activation code generated with the Rainbow room
- If not already done, install the meeting room equipment
- Connecting the meeting room equipment to your company using the activation code
Prerequisites
- Room licenses must be allocated to your company for Rainbow room creation.
- Meeting rooms must have a compatible Android TV box, a monitor and audio/video devices.
- Each Rainbow room requires a Room license.
The Room license is released when deleting the Rainbow room. - The Android TV box is not included in the Rainbow Room solution and must be purchased separately. To get the list of compatible equipment: see article: Software Prerequisites.
Accessing the Rainbow room configuration window
- From the Rainbow application, click on Manage your company
in the left panel.
- In the MY COMPANY panel, click on the name of your company.
- In the left panel, click on Communication.
- In the right part of the window, click on the Rainbow Rooms tab.
Configuring a Rainbow room for your company
- From the Rainbow Rooms configuration window, click on Create.
- Complete the fields with the name, site, location and room.
This information will help company members to search the meeting room in Rainbow. - In the Subscription field, select the Room license among listed license offers.
This field is automatically filled when it exists only one Room license offer.Note: A Room license will be automatically consumed when the Rainbow room is connected for the first time. You can delete the Rainbow Room to release the license. - Click on Apply.
The Rainbow room is created and listed in the configuration window with the connection status Pending.
At this stage, an activation code is generated: it is required when connecting the meeting room equipment to Rainbow for the first time. To get this activation code:
- From the Rainbow Rooms configuration window, move your mouse over the target Rainbow room, click on
, and select Manage connection.
- Make a copy of the activation code.
- Click Done to exit.
From the Rainbow Rooms configuration window, you can also:
- Modify the Rainbow room properties: click on the target Rainbow room to access its properties.
- Renew the activation code for connection to Rainbow: move your mouse over the Rainbow room, click on
, select Manage connection, and click on Renew code.
- Delete the Rainbow room: move your mouse over the target Rainbow room, click on
, and select Remove equipment.
Installing the meeting room equipment
In the meeting room, connect the Android TV box to:
- Your monitor (TV, computer screen or overhead projector) on HDMI port (HDMI 2.0 cable)
- Your video device (camera) on USB port
- Your audio device (speakerphone) on USB port
- Your LAN on Ethernet port (see note below)
- A power socket using the powed cord
Connecting the meeting room equipment to Rainbow
Once the equipment in meeting room is connected and powered up:
- Start the Android TV box.
- Connect to the Google Play store, search, then install the Rainbow Room application.
- Launch the Rainbow Room application.
- At first application startup, enter the activation code generated at the Rainbow room creation.
In the Rainbow Rooms configuration window, the Rainbow room connection status changes to Running.
The activation code has a limited lifetime. If you get an error trying to log in, generate a new one:
- From the Rainbow Rooms configuration window, move your mouse over the target Rainbow room, click on
, and select Manage connection.
- Click on Renew code and make a copy of the activation code.
- Click Done to exit.
